Opinion: MacBook vs. Chromebook
Over time, I have used both MacBooks and Chromebooks. Chromebooks are substantially less expensive and are thus more common at schools than MacBooks. It is important to compare them because the difference in quality between the two products could create a gap in educational access.
This is apparent in their interface. For example, MacBooks give you a more detailed experience when you are adjusting your sound. On a MacBook you see your volume on a numeric scale, but on a Chromebook you only see a dot and a line that you can adjust.

I never thought of these things before the pandemic. MacBooks are also generally bigger; if you are watching television on one, you will see more of the show. All this means they give students a better experience with technology. This makes them more likely to be interested in technology, which they need so that they can be interested in technology when they grow up.
