Stop asking Siri everything. Where’s the nearest McDonalds? You should already know where the nearest McDonald’s is! Ask someone in your house. Or ask your neighbor. They might know. Also, some people ask Siri all of their life problems. Go to a therapist! Stop being lazy. And, you don’t need to ask Siri math problems. Go to your parents, and ask them questions. We should talk together instead of talking to machines.
I admit it: Even I am a victim of Siri. I was doing my homework, and I got stuck on a question and was struggling. So, I asked Siri—which I shouldn’t have. I should’ve asked my parents. They are smarter and can give you an exact answer. Also, Siri did not even give me an answer! Sometimes Siri doesn’t give an exact answer. That is why you should ask a grown-up.
Some people think that Siri and technological progress will solve all of our problems. This is not true. Although AI makes life easier, we should be more independent and not rely on it. Even people who work with tech are a bit concerned. The rate of technological progress is so rapid that we humans struggle to catch up. There are challenges that come with embracing progress. For example, so many kids today are obsessed with phones. That is a problem that comes with more advanced technology.
Another reason why Siri is bad is that it conveniently gives us answers without showing us the way it got it. It can make our life easier but it’s bad for us. Siri gives us answers, but it doesn’t show us the process, and learning is about the process. But when we ask friends or relatives they understand you so they can give you an answer that you can understand. If you ask Siri, ”Hey Siri, what’s 506X1056?” I don’t know if Siri will give you an answer, but I advise you to ask your parents. They will work through it with you so you can understand how to solve the problem.
Siri is bad because people rely on it too much. Lives are being taken over by technology. I hope that through reading my piece that people will connect with friends and family —and not run to Siri.
