The University of Connecticut is the Basketball Capital of the world. The men’s basketball team has won six national championships, while the women’s basketball team has won 12, recently winning  a championship in 2025. However, this is a new season, which means new opportunities for other teams to steal UConn’s spotlight. But can UConn defend their national championship title?

Ever since UConn’s primary star, Paige Bueckers was drafted into the WNBA, people have been speculating that other teams will steal the National Championship title. Others however, believe that UConn will manage without Bueckers, and will find ways to win the National Championship again.

In my opinion, Uconn still has a couple of problems to work out, but that doesn’t mean that they still aren’t a good team. With players like Sarah Strong, Sereah Williams, and Azzi Fudd, I believe that Uconn will most likely win the National Championship again.
