Opinion: Fourth Grade, All Online
I’m so used to remote learning that I might not go back to school until I get the vaccine. I don’t think it would be safe. So, basically, I will be remote for all of my fourth grade. I feel a bit frustrated. I wanted to meet my teacher in person, but it looks like I will have to wait until I get the vaccine. By then, I won’t be a fourth grader anymore.
Zoom life comes with irritating things, too. I get annoyed, for example, when my internet doesn’t work and I get kicked out. Sometimes you get kicked out of a Google meeting because of the internet. It feels like being in the principal’s office and getting in trouble without doing anything to deserve it.
In some classes, my friends get frozen and I don’t know what to do. I wonder if it is my fault: Did I press pause on them or something? I try to think about what that would be like if it happened during in-person school. It would be like walking around and watching everyone frozen like statues. That would be weird. I would surely not like seeing my friends frozen. I would make me feel lonely. Would you like seeing your friends frozen?

There is also the problem that background noises can be loud and difficult to control. Also, in class sometimes my friends lag a lot and it feels like I’m the lucky one and my friends are the unlucky ones. Technology can make me mad and frustrated.
Sometimes, I wish I did not have to see my friends on a computer, like a Chromebook. Would you prefer to see your friends in person or on a computer? I really do want to see my friends in person!
