Screens are Better than Books – By Van Smith

If you are out for dinner, you instantly get bored because you just don’t know how to sit and not get bored without a screen. I like YouTube but my friend Weiyue likes books. I like to watch YouTube because it’s easier. I think reading is not as stimulating as video games. I’m a basketball player. One time I saw a move on YouTube and I tried the move and it was just as good as advertised. I think videos can make me better because they show me tips.

If you watch something you instantly get bored. If you get bored you might not know what to watch. Books are better than screens because you can stop and read whenever you want and you can learn from some books and you can get smarter. Reading can be good because if you’re having fun and you’re waiting for something that’s long, you can read. You will find that something like three hours will pass, and it will feel like three minutes. The first book I ever read that was more than 800 pages long was Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. It took me two weeks to read it. My favorite part was when Bellatrix, Harry, Nevill, Sirius Black, and the Death Eaters, Remus Lupin, Nimphadora Tonks, Albus Dumbledore and Lord Voldemort were fighting each other. I felt my heart beating and I was entertained.
