Anybody can be an artist. But what makes someone an artist? Most people say that they like to create art but what they really like to do is color! That’s okay, but I do not know why they think it’s art. Coloring pages is not art because someone else made the drawing — so tracing something is also not art. Being an artist is like being an inventor: your ideas must be unique. They can be whatever you want them to be. Your idea can be ANYTHING! It can be an animal, a person, or something you like. With a coloring page, you just look up something to color (no offense). It might be art, but mostly it’s art that was taught in school. It’s not their original idea! In school, if we have an art class some people just do what the teacher wants them to do. So, if there is no art class, what would they do? The only bad part about art is that it can be time-consuming. You might think art is a waste of your time. Sometimes you may want to watch a quick TV show or play a game instead. Often, one artist makes art for about 6 to 10 hours! Although it may take a long time, it’s worth it! Also, the process can be very fun. For example, acrylic pouring can be very messy, but that’s what makes it fun. Once, when I was painting for a school project, it was so messy that the paint went all over my desk! The messier the better, I guess, as long as it’s original
